
Information Technology Support, Downtown San Jose, CA
Minimum ~20hrs/week ; Rate $20-24 / hr
Job Description
The Information Technology Support specialist is responsible for supporting the business practices of client by delivering reliable, high quality onsite desktop services, and support. This position has high visibility and requires a consistent level of professionalism and commitment. Must have experience in a support role.
Provide front-line technical support to company business units, service lines, and physical locations. May require occasional travel to San Francisco.
Provide excellent customer service through communication and understanding.
Adhere and promote firm policies and practices.
Work with a team spirit toward high standards of service delivery.
Provide the interface between your client group / local office and the National office.
Active participation in your career development plan in conjunction with the organizational mission. Develop and maintain healthy working relationships with local office management team.
Participate in feedback dialogue with business units and the National office with a goal of service improvement.
Act as central point for computer equipment orders to ensure proper configuration and compliance with firm standards.
Maintain all office computer systems including hardware, software, configuration, updates, and patches in conjunction with the National office.
Prepare computers for new hires, and special project teams.
Assist and maintain local office computer equipment inventory along with expensive accessories.
·Perform other IT Support related duties as necessary.
Upstanding legal U.S. resident.
Bachelors degree in Computer Science or related area preferred, and at least 2 years of similar work experience.
Must have at least 2 full years of experience in a large corporate environment.
Service oriented and customer focused.
Self-starter, self-motivated, goal oriented, team player.
Reliable, Well Organized, and Professional - MUST HAVE.
Sufficient knowledge of Microsoft Windows XP / Office 2003 and Windows 2000 platforms including detailed understanding of networking components.
Ability to become Dell Certified for repair of Notebooks and Desktops.
Solid oral and written communications skills.
Capable of balancing several projects and maintaining priorities.
Able to lift 75lbs safely.
Willingness to work additional hours as when needed.
